A 16-year-old moped rider crashed while trying to flee police in St. Georgen an der Gusen, in the district of Perg, ORF reported. A breath test showed 1.12 per mille alcohol in his blood.

The teenager was travelling with another moped rider on the L569 at about 2.30 a.m. on Sunday. One of the mopeds had no lights and no licence plate. A police patrol spotted the pair and followed them before officers found the 16-year-old lying beside his vehicle after the crash.

He was injured and taken to hospital after receiving first aid. His driving licence was provisionally confiscated, and he faces several reports, including for riding a moped that was not authorised for road use.
