Salzburg’s chief heritage conservator, Eva Hody, will move to Switzerland to become co-head of the Canton of Zurich’s archaeology and monument preservation department from February 1, ORF reports.
Hody spent 14 years as Salzburg’s state conservator, taking part in decisions on renovations in the city’s old town, including at the Mozarteum, Residenzplatz square and, currently, the festival halls.
Born in Zurich in 1966, Hody worked for many years at Vienna’s monument preservation office before taking charge of the Salzburg department in 2012. She was also a member of the expert commission for old town preservation.
