Haidlmair buys 75% of Italian mould maker
Upper Austrian toolmaker Haidlmair is acquiring a 75% stake in Italian company Euro Stampi, expanding its business in Italy, ORF reported. Euro Stampi, based in Jesi in the central Italian region of Marche, generates about 20 million euros in revenue and specialises in making large moulds.
The acquisition will create a group with annual revenue of more than 130 million euros, making Haidlmair one of Europe’s larger suppliers of injection moulds. The family-owned company, based in Nußbach in the Kirchdorf an der Krems district, operates at four European locations and mainly produces medium-sized moulds.
Haidlmair plans to use synergies and streamline production. Manufacturing of large moulds for the group is to be concentrated in Marche. Euro Stampi’s managing director will be Matteo Mazzarini, the son of one of the company’s long-standing shareholders.
The sale reflects succession issues and a desire to accelerate Euro Stampi’s growth, according to information from the companies. The five founding families asked Italian bank Banca Ifis to find a buyer. They selected Haidlmair because it has a similar ownership structure.
Haidlmair is also pursuing growth through acquisitions alongside exports. Its most recent purchase was TFM Slovakia, a company specialising in CNC machining.
