Montafon seeks 600 volunteers for 2027 winter sports world championships

Organisers are looking for 600 volunteers for the FIS Snowboard, Freestyle and Freeski World Championships in the Montafon region from March 6 to 21, 2027, ORF reports. Online registration is open.

The championships will feature 31 medal events across 17 disciplines. Competitions will take place at six venues in Vorarlberg and Tyrol.

Volunteer roles include checking access, working as course marshals, helping with event preparations and ceremonies, and supporting the race office, press centre and anti-doping procedures. Shuttle drivers are also needed. Some positions involve outdoor work and contact with spectators, while others are indoors.

Applicants can state their preferences, but the organisation team will assign roles based on availability and event needs. Volunteers will receive a uniform including a winter jacket and trousers, but accommodation will not be provided. Selected applicants will be contacted with confirmation and further details.
