Audi is extending its cost-cutting measures to cultural and community sports projects in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm, BR reported. The company says the cuts reflect its extremely difficult financial situation.

The Audi Summer Concerts and a jazz series will not be held next year. Audi has also stopped supporting the Ingolstadt Chamber Philharmonic, which said it had received 100,000 euros from the carmaker, plus concert revenue.

Audi sponsorship for the Ingolstadt Half Marathon and triathlon in 2027 will also end. The impact on the events is not yet clear. In Heilbronn, cuts will affect a company running event and a sports club near Neckarsulm. Audi has not said how much it expects to save.

The company’s support for major sports teams, including ERC Ingolstadt, FC Ingolstadt and TSG Hoffenheim, is not affected for now. Audi invested more than 33 million euros in projects worldwide last year, including in Mexico and Hungary. Whether further cuts will follow depends on the company’s economic performance next year.
