A fox that fell into an irrigation pond at the ARBÖ driving safety centre was rescued by the Ludersdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade on Sunday morning, ORF reported. The exhausted animal was uninjured and later released into the wild.

The fox fell into the pond at about 7am and could not get back to shore. Firefighters used a ladder and large nets to bring it out safely, staying in contact with a veterinarian and the veterinarian of the district fire brigade association during the operation.

Local hunters placed the fox in a transport box so it could rest before being released at a safe location.
