WAC aim to end winless run against WSG Tirol

Wolfsberger AC face WSG Tirol in a crucial Bundesliga match on Sunday, with a win offering a chance to climb off the bottom of the table, ORF reports.

WAC have gone seven league games without a victory and have been bottom for a week. Their only win this season came in the opening match against Austria Vienna. The club’s current situation echoes last season, when it narrowly avoided relegation.

Coach Thomas Silberberger, who helped rescue WAC last season, said the team would look “completely different” from its recent performances. “I can guarantee that,” he told ORF before the match, which was due to begin at 2.30pm.

A win against Tirol would lift WAC off the bottom. A defeat would make its position considerably worse.
