Bus hits 91-year-old pedestrian, seriously injuring him

A 91-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit by a bus in Nüziders on Saturday morning, ORF reported. He was crossing the road away from a pedestrian crossing when he collided with a bus travelling towards Ludesch.

The crash happened at about 10:49 on the L190, near a car dealership. The man hit the bus’s windscreen and was then thrown onto the road.

The 65-year-old bus driver was uninjured, and a breath test was negative. Police said vehicle data showed the bus had not exceeded the 60 km/h speed limit on that stretch of road. The bus sustained front-end damage.
