A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured when his e-scooter collided with a car in Vienna’s Donaustadt district on Friday, ORF reported. He was thrown from the scooter and suffered a fractured thigh bone.
The crash happened during the morning rush hour on Langobardenstraße. Initial findings suggest the boy was riding in a cycle lane when he collided with a car that was already turning right. Investigators have not yet established the exact circumstances, including whether he was speeding or distracted.
Vienna’s professional ambulance service treated the boy at the scene before taking him to hospital. The car’s driver and passenger, a child nearly the same age as the boy, were uninjured.
