Flachgau, ÖVP, Salzburg

The ÖVP in Flachgau has unanimously nominated Karin Huber as its designated new district chairwoman, ORF reported. She will succeed Stefan Schnöll, who has stepped down from the role as he prepares to leave politics.

Huber, 47, is a tax adviser and entrepreneur, as well as vice mayor of Wals-Siezenheim, a municipality in Flachgau. She also leads the ÖVP group in her home municipality and previously served as deputy district chairwoman.

Huber will take over the Flachgau ÖVP’s operations immediately, but must still be elected at the next district congress. The date has not yet been set, the state party said.

Schnöll announced in mid-September that he would leave politics in November and move to the private sector. After her nomination, Huber said she wanted to continue the party’s work and focus on people’s concerns and the region’s development.
