The Almdorf Seinerzeit chalet village in Carinthia is being modernised and is expected to reopen in 2027, ORF reported. The resort, which has 51 cabins and chalets, went bankrupt in 2024 with nearly 35 million euros in debt.
After negotiations with several international bidders, the property was acquired in summer 2025 by the Sager Group, a real estate investor from Peggau in Styria. The group paid 8.5 million euros, or 80 percent of the appraised value.
The new owners plan to present their plans for the resort in the Nockberge mountains in early November. Their announcement described a luxury resort with private chalets and said a limited number of exclusive chalets were already available for purchase. A hotel with a restaurant and wellness area is planned for the existing main building.
Karl Lessiak, the SPÖ mayor of Ebene Reichenau, told ORF that the resort is currently being modernised. The new owners have assured him that its village character will be preserved. It is due to reopen in summer 2027, or by autumn at the latest.
