A truck-mounted crane struck and tore down an overhead power line in Neulengbach on Wednesday, forcing the evacuation of a passenger train, ORF reported.

The damage occurred at a timber loading site, the Kirchstetten-Markt Volunteer Fire Brigade said. About 40 passengers were on the train, which had to stop and be evacuated.

Rail services on the old West line between Kirchstetten and Eichgraben-Altlengbach, both in the St Pölten district, were suspended until about 5 p.m. A replacement bus service was arranged.
