The Bruckmühl geriatric rehabilitation clinic can continue operating for now, but only with 30 beds and under conditions, BR reported. The Rosenheim district office has paused proceedings to revoke its licence after a follow-up inspection found some improvements.
The clinic must show by November 23 that its new documentation system is working and that staff have been trained. Other requirements concern medication management and wound care and record-keeping.
The clinic may apply to increase its capacity no earlier than January 1, 2027, provided it has met all the conditions. Its management has one week to respond to the requirements.
The Rosenheim health authority and the Bavarian Medical Service inspected the clinic again on October 6. The district office said some shortcomings in documentation had been addressed, but significant improvements were still needed and the new system was still being developed.
Wolfgang Hierl, head of the Rosenheim health authority, said inspectors had found no immediate threat to patients, so an immediate closure was not justified. He said the clinic’s current capacity could not be increased at this stage, but that its management team appeared strongly motivated to address the identified problems promptly.
BR reporting in late August brought to light allegations of serious shortcomings at the clinic. Patients, relatives and former employees described problems between 2024 and July 2026, including inadequate wound care, missing or incorrect medication and insufficient staffing. An unannounced inspection by the district office in late August found significant deficiencies in documentation, leaving it unable to verify fully whether medical and nursing care had been provided appropriately.
