Police arrest four men suspected of professional shoplifting

Police arrested four men on the Hochkönigstraße road on Monday on suspicion of commercial shoplifting, ORF Salzburg reported. Officers stopped their car and found numerous new, packaged goods inside.

The items included perfumes, electric toothbrushes and shoes. The four Polish men, aged between 22 and 41, could not give a plausible explanation for where the goods came from or produce receipts, police said.

Officers also found backpacks and bags that appeared to have been prepared for shoplifting. At least two of the men were already wanted in connection with three thefts in Wiener Neustadt and Graz in early October. Those thefts caused losses of about 6,500 euros.
