Unknown people used a garden hose to flood two single-family homes under construction in Lustenau, causing extensive damage, ORF reported.

Water in the ground floors reached a depth of 30 centimetres, and kitchens already installed in both houses were badly damaged. Police believe water may have been flowing into the homes unnoticed for several days.

One of the homeowners discovered the damage on Sunday and alerted emergency services at about 11:39 a.m. Firefighters pumped water from the neighbouring houses, with around 35 responders attending.

The suspected perpetrators have not been identified. Police are investigating the incident as deliberate property damage.
