Three-year-old injured after falling from farmhouse window

A three-year-old boy is being treated in intensive care after falling from a first-floor window at a farm in Bad Zell, in Freistadt district, ORF reported.

Police said the boy may have climbed onto the windowsill while playing during an unnoticed moment. A fly screen was fitted over the window, and the child is believed to have leaned against it before it gave way.

His grandmother, who was looking after him, saw what happened and called emergency services. The boy was conscious despite his injuries and was flown by helicopter to Kepler University Hospital in Linz.

The hospital said in an initial update that the child was not in life-threatening danger.
