Apartment prices climb nearly 9% in Upper Austria

Apartment prices in Upper Austria rose by almost 9% year on year in the first half of 2026, reaching an average of 3,699 euros per square metre, ORF reported, citing the latest REMAX ImmoSpiegel.
Across Austria, 24,106 owner-occupied apartments were sold during the period, up 25.3% on the same period last year. Sales were 8.2% below the first-half record set in 2022, but exceeded the ten-year average. The total value of the apartments sold rose 26.9% to 7.09 billion euros.
The national average price fell 1.5% to 4,234 euros per square metre. Prices also rose in Lower Austria, Styria and Burgenland.
New or fully renovated apartments made up 23.4% of all sales nationwide, down from 33% in 2023.
