Linz hospital stages helicopter crash response drill

Ordensklinikum Linz is holding a technical exercise at its Barmherzige Schwestern hospital helipad on Wednesday morning, ORF reported. The drill simulates a helicopter crash and tests how emergency crews and hospital staff would respond to injured people.

The Linz professional fire brigade and the hospital’s emergency teams are taking part. The hospital warned that the exercise could involve loud noises and simulated smoke, but said patients, visitors and staff would not be in danger.

Hospital care is not expected to be affected. Acute cases will be handled by Kepler University Hospital that day, according to the admission schedule.
