Pensioner suffers serious head injuries in suspected Schruns fall

A pensioner was found with serious head injuries after a suspected fall in Schruns on Tuesday evening, ORF reported. Firefighters had been called to a residential development on Montafonerstraße at about 8.30pm after smoke was detected.

The man had been cooking in his kitchen, and the smoke triggered an alarm. He apparently tried to turn it off by climbing onto a chair, then fell and injured his head.

Firefighters treated him at the scene before he was taken by emergency doctor to Feldkirch State Hospital. No further information about his condition was available.
