A 67-year-old man was injured when his tractor left a road and plunged into a stream in Faak am See, in the Villach-Land district, ORF reported.

The man, who is from Villach, veered off the municipal road to the left at about 10.15 a.m. on Tuesday for reasons that remain unknown. Firefighters used a basket stretcher to rescue him from the tractor. He was taken by ambulance to Villach Hospital.

The tractor was badly damaged and was pulled from the stream by the Villach main fire station. Firefighters also set up an oil barrier to prevent possible pollution. Volunteer fire brigades from Faak and Gödersdorf also attended.
