Traunstein court sentences ex-officer for raping 15-year-old
A former police officer has been sentenced to three years and three months in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl, BR reported. The Traunstein Regional Court also convicted her of sexual abuse of juveniles, bodily injury and possessing images and videos depicting sexual violence against children.
The 55-year-old transgender woman, who has been suspended from duty, admitted the offences at the start of her trial. The court found that in August 2025 she followed the daughter of a friend into a toilet cubicle at a motorway service area in Irschenberg, locked the door and raped her.
The court also found her guilty of possessing nearly 2,000 images and videos depicting sexual violence against children. A separate allegation of creating animal pornography was dropped because the court said it could not establish that the material had been made with the explicit intention of distributing it.
The sentence followed an agreement between prosecutors and the defence that a full confession would limit the prison term to no more than three and a half years. As part of a victim-offender settlement, the woman is to pay the now 16-year-old victim 11,000 euros in compensation. A proposal to transfer a motorcycle to the victim was rejected because it could remind her of the offence.
The proceedings were largely held behind closed doors to protect the victim. The court said the defendant’s gender identity had no bearing on its decision. It cited her early confession as a mitigating factor, along with difficulties she faced in prison, where she was held in the men’s unit in Munich and was repeatedly threatened and insulted by male inmates.
If the verdict becomes final, she will lose her civil servant status and pension entitlements. The ruling is not yet legally binding.
