Police investigate another container fire in Wolfurt

Police are investigating after a container caught fire in Wolfurt early Tuesday, with initial information indicating it was deliberately set alight, ORF reported. No one was injured.

Firefighters and police were called to Frühlingstraße at about 2.15 a.m. Police searched the surrounding area for suspicious people. Officials have not released further details while the investigation continues.

The fire came days after a waste container caught fire outside a wooden house in Wolfurt on Sunday evening. Thick smoke spread into nearby homes. No one was injured, and the cause was initially unclear.

Police say it is not yet known whether the two fires are connected. In May 2025, several waste and paper containers were set alight in Wolfurt over a period of a few days in a series of suspected arson attacks.
