A 63-year-old cyclist was pulled from his bicycle and assaulted in Kufstein on Saturday, police said, according to ORF. Police are seeking witnesses.

The local man was riding along Salurner Street at about 5.50pm when a car stopped beside him near Dr. Karl Erlacher Street. A man got out and pulled him from his bicycle, knocking him to the ground, the cyclist told police.

One of the car’s four occupants then allegedly punched him in the face. Another occupant told the others to leave him alone. The cyclist covered his face with his arms during the attack and could not describe the attackers or the vehicle.

He said he had earlier been riding on the pavement towards the outskirts of the city when a woman told him to get off it. He continued to a petrol station, and was attacked on his return journey.

Police in Kufstein have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to call 059133/7210.
