17-year-old driver misses stop sign, injuring three

A 17-year-old driver apparently failed to see a stop sign in dense fog and caused a serious crash at an intersection in Ried im Traunkreis on Saturday morning, ORF reported. The young driver and a married couple were slightly injured and taken to hospital.

The teenager, who is from the Kirchdorf district, had exited the A9 motorway from the south. He apparently missed the stop sign because of the weather and because he was unfamiliar with the area.

His car collided with a vehicle driven by a 55-year-old woman, who was travelling towards Ried im Traunkreis with her 56-year-old husband. All three people involved were slightly injured.
