Crypto scam costs Klagenfurt woman a five-figure sum

A 34-year-old woman from Klagenfurt lost a low five-figure sum in a cryptocurrency investment scam, ORF reports.

Between September 28 and October 2, an unknown person contacted her through social media and promised high returns. The woman invested in cryptocurrency and transferred it in several instalments to accounts controlled by the suspected scammers.

Investigations have begun on suspicion of serious fraud.
