Cat attack sends driver off Inntal motorway

A 57-year-old driver suffered minor injuries after his car left the Inntal motorway near Radfeld in Kufstein district when his cat attacked him, ORF reported. The car was written off, and the cat remains missing.

The man was travelling towards Germany overnight into Friday with the cat secured by a leash in a basket on the back seat. After it began making unusual noises, he removed the leash. The cat then scratched and bit him.

The driver swerved, and the car spun before crashing into a ditch. Emergency services freed him from the wreckage.

The cat, a valuable Bengal breeding animal, fled after the crash. Radfeld’s volunteer fire brigade searched for it with a drone overnight, but the search was unsuccessful.
