A chlorine gas alarm was triggered Wednesday evening at St. Martins Therme & Lodge, a thermal spa resort in Frauenkirchen, in the Neusiedl am See district. No guests or employees were in danger, the resort said, according to ORF.

Safety sensors detected a slightly elevated gas concentration in a secured technical room at about 9 p.m. and automatically alerted the fire brigade. The room was secured immediately.

Firefighters from Frauenkirchen and Weiden am See, along with the hazardous materials unit from Neusiedl am See, responded with 60 personnel and 11 vehicles. The gas leak was minor and was stopped. The affected area was cleaned and ventilated, and the operation ended after about an hour.

The resort said it was again fully available to guests and that its facilities are regularly inspected.
