Motorcycle with sidecar crashes into house in Mariazell

A motorcyclist was seriously injured when his motorcycle with a sidecar hit a house in Mariazell, ORF Steiermark reported.

The 39-year-old, from the Lilienfeld district in Lower Austria, was riding through Mariazell towards Gußwerk at about 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday. In a long right-hand bend near Peter-Rosegger-Gasse, he moved onto the opposite lane for an unknown reason, according to a witness, and struck the house wall.

First aiders and a Red Cross first responder treated him at the scene. A rescue helicopter, Christophorus 15, took him to hospital with suspected serious head injuries.
