BR identifies people behind Oktoberfest upskirting videos

BR investigations have identified people behind thousands of voyeuristic videos filmed on the Teufelsrad, an Oktoberfest ride, and posted online, the broadcaster reported on Tuesday.

The clips, which have circulated online for years, show women riding the attraction, often with their underwear visible. Some video thumbnails have been digitally altered to show women topless or naked. The videos have appeared on platforms including YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.

BR found that several people in Bavaria and a group of YouTube professionals from Ukraine were behind many of the recordings. They appear to use the videos to increase the reach of social media accounts.

The investigation linked a man from Bavaria to dozens of accounts. His most successful videos, which have since been deleted, had accumulated several hundred million views combined. BR also traced material to a woman from Upper Bavaria who said on X in 2024 that she had produced more than 600 videos during Oktoberfest and offered extensive, previously unpublished footage for sale.

Neither person answered BR’s questions. Relevant content was deleted shortly after the broadcaster contacted them.
