Oberneukirchen club gets stolen beer kegs back and drops police complaint

A football club in Oberneukirchen has recovered three stolen beer kegs and will not report the theft to police, ORF reported. The kegs were left at the club’s grounds overnight on Friday, according to the Sportunion Oberneukirchen.

The kegs, each holding 50 litres, were stolen during the club’s Oktoberfest two weeks ago. The club had said it would not file a report if they were returned by Saturday.

Football section head Christian Pammer told Radio Oberösterreich that the kegs were the original ones and were full and sealed. The club had put the loss at up to 700 euros. The theft was noticed during the clean-up the day after the event, which coincided with football matches.

The identities of the people who took the kegs remain unknown, and the club says it has received no clues about them.
