Raiffeisen Landesbank plans €55 million new headquarters

Raiffeisen Landesbank plans to invest about €55 million in a new headquarters, with completion expected by 2030, ORF reports. The bank presented its first plans on Monday for a building opposite a former Kika store.

The bank says its current headquarters has become too small and does not have enough parking. The new building is intended to serve customers and employees, with a design featuring a wood finish and extensive use of glass.

Plans include flexible office space, home working and desk sharing for the bank’s roughly 200 employees, as well as rooms for meeting and quiet work. Deputy director-general Eva Fugger said the headquarters should be sustainable and modern and support a new working environment. Board member Rudolf Suttner said the bank wants to combine virtual and in-person customer service.

Construction is due to begin next year. The Landesimmobiliengesellschaft, a state property company, bought the current headquarters for about €11.4 million and plans to use it itself.

The proposed transfer of most shares in the Neue Eisenstädter housing company to the state is still awaiting approval from the audit association for non-profit housing providers. Raiffeisen Landesbank intends to retain its remaining 15 per cent stake.
