Scaffold collapse injures eight in Innsbruck

Eight people were injured when a construction scaffold collapsed in Innsbruck on Monday, ORF reported. Three people were moderately injured and five suffered minor injuries.

The roughly three-metre-high scaffold collapsed at about 5.05pm on Anton-Melzer-Straße for reasons that remain unknown. Seven ambulances and two emergency doctor vehicles attended the scene.

Egger-Lienz-Straße was fully closed to eastbound traffic for about an hour while emergency crews worked. Traffic was diverted via Andreas-Hofer-Straße. Investigations into the cause of the accident and the injuries are ongoing.
