Faulty pantograph disrupts Vienna U2 service

A faulty pantograph caused light smoke on a U2 train at Schottentor station in Vienna on Monday evening, temporarily suspending service between Karlsplatz and Schottenring, ORF reported.

The Vienna Fire Brigade was called out and remained at the scene for about 10 minutes, according to a Vienna Public Transport spokesperson.

The section was closed from shortly after 6 p.m. until shortly after 7 p.m. Service then resumed, initially running at varying intervals.
