Worker suffers serious finger injury while pruning trees

A 39-year-old worker suffered a serious finger injury while pruning trees in Leibnitz on Monday, ORF reported. He was taken to the Wagna State Hospital. Investigators found no indication that anyone else was responsible.

The incident happened at 7:50 a.m. while the worker was cutting trees from an enclosed work platform about three metres above the ground. He injured the little finger of his left hand while using electric pruning shears.

A colleague at the scene provided immediate first aid. The injured man was then taken to hospital by emergency responders, where he received further treatment.
