Sunrise weighs cuts of up to 450 full-time jobs

Sunrise is considering cutting up to 450 full-time jobs as it reviews a possible overhaul of its operating model, SRF reported. The planned reduction would affect nearly 16% of the Swiss telecom provider’s current workforce of 2,900 full-time employees.

The company said it wanted to anticipate emerging market and technology developments. In an initial phase, Sunrise will also review supplier contracts. Employees in shops, sales and customer service are expected to be largely excluded from any cuts, while apprentices will not be affected.

Sunrise plans to hold the legally required consultation process with employee representatives and the Syndicom trade union in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company said it would provide further details about the transformation programme after completing its evaluation.
