Marcel Burtscher to join Raiffeisen Landesbank Tirol board

Marcel Burtscher will become a board member of Raiffeisen Landesbank Tirol on May 1 next year, ORF reported. The Vorarlberg-born banker has more than 20 years of international experience in banking, most of it within the Raiffeisen Banking Group, the bank said.

His responsibilities will include risk and credit risk management, finance, controlling, receivables management and restructuring.

Hanspeter Bachler, chairman of the bank’s supervisory board, said Burtscher would complement the management team led by chief executive Thomas Wass and board member Gabriele Kinast. Burtscher has many years of management experience and a strong understanding of the balance between growth, risk, regulatory requirements and sustainable earnings quality, Bachler said.

Burtscher is currently a member of the management board of Raiffeisen Factor Bank AG. Before joining its board, he held various management positions within the Raiffeisen Bank International Group.

He studied at the University of Vienna and TU Wien. He also completed the TRIUM Global Executive MBA programme run by the London School of Economics, NYU Stern School of Business and HEC Paris.
