Wolford plans to move dyeing facility from Bregenz to Mäder

Wolford plans to move its dyeing facility from Bregenz to Mäder, ORF reports, citing an official notice from the Feldkirch district authority. The facility is to move to the premises of textile company Arula.

Wolford has applied for construction and operating permits. The authority has scheduled an oral hearing for October 21.

The lingerie manufacturer must vacate its headquarters in Bregenz by April 2027 at the latest. The company sold the building to fittings manufacturer Blum in 2020 because of financial difficulties and initially leased it back.

Wolford announced in April that it was also seeking new locations for its embroidery and laundry operations. The company intends to remain in Vorarlberg.

Wolford reports heavy losses

The Vorarlberg textile company recorded another substantial loss last year. According to its April 2026 annual report, revenue fell 14 percent to just under 76 million euros, while the annual loss rose to 57.25 million euros, about 5.6 million euros more than the previous year.

Wolford said it had around 150 employees in Vorarlberg in April 2026, including 100 in Bregenz and about 50 in Hard.
