Police catch Salzburg motorcyclist speeding twice

Police stopped a 23 year old motorcyclist on the Hochkönig Road after catching him speeding twice within a short period, ORF reported. He was travelling at almost 100 km/h in a 50 km/h zone and later exceeded 120 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.

Police measured his speed near Hinterthal, close to Maria Alm, and in Dienten, both in the Pinzgau region.

During a further inspection, officers found that part of the motorcycle’s exhaust silencer had been removed. This caused the bike to exceed the permitted noise level by 10 decibels, according to the official report. Both tyres were also worn, with insufficient tread depth.

Police confiscated the man’s driving licence and vehicle registration document. Investigators said he would be reported.
