Pepper spray at Innsbruck nightclub leaves four injured

Four people suffered minor injuries after pepper spray was discharged at a nightclub in Innsbruck overnight, ORF reported. They were taken to a clinic for further treatment.

According to the emergency services coordination centre, 30 to 40 people were inside the venue when a security employee sprayed the pepper spray. Why he did so and what led to the incident are under investigation.

The incident prompted a large emergency response involving the Red Cross, police and firefighters. The Innsbruck Red Cross said four lightly injured people were taken to hospital.
