Police stopped a 36-year-old Hungarian woman in Altheim in the Braunau district on Friday and found that she was driving under the influence of drugs with her two-year-old child in the car, ORF reported.
The child was sitting in a child seat on the back seat but was not strapped in, according to police. Officers noticed clear signs that the woman was under the influence of drugs, and a voluntary test came back positive.
A doctor also confirmed that the woman was completely unfit to drive because of drug use and severe fatigue.
The Ukrainian driving licence she presented was found to be a complete forgery and was confiscated by police. When confronted with suspicion of document forgery, the woman said she had attended driving school in Ukraine, although she does not speak Ukrainian.
The woman will face multiple charges.
