Music camp brings young talent together with industry professionals

The Music in the Woods programme is bringing emerging musicians together with experienced professionals for its third edition in Gutenbrunn, in Zwettl district, ORF reports. The five day camp runs until September 20 at the Bühnengasthaus Juster.

Organised by AKM, Jam Music Lab Private University Vienna and the Austrian Association of Event Organisers, the initiative focuses on exchanging ideas, practical work and collaborative music-making. Participants are working in music production, songwriting, video game soundtrack composition and film scoring with experienced figures from the international media music industry.

Showcase marks the camp’s conclusion

The programme will culminate in a showcase event on Saturday, where participants will present their work. The event is intended to demonstrate the young musicians’ creativity, professionalism and musical independence.

Organisers received around 120 applications this year, with a specialist jury awarding full scholarships to 30 participants. The scholarships cover workshop fees, accommodation and meals.

Former participant Tamara Flores is currently nominated for a Latin Grammy.
