Grill fire leaves three apartments uninhabitable in Fußach

A fire in Fußach left at least three apartments in a multi-unit building uninhabitable on Thursday afternoon, ORF Vorarlberg reported. The blaze was initially reported as a garden shed fire but had spread to the apartments by the time firefighters arrived.

Fire officials believe the fire started at a grill outside a lower-floor apartment. According to incident commander Thomas Scheutz, it spread via the balconies to the apartment above and then sideways to another apartment.

Firefighters evacuated the building and immediately began tackling the blaze from outside. Additional crews were called in, Scheutz said at the scene.

No one was injured, according to emergency services.
