Starnacht organisers race to finish Wachau show preparations

Final preparations are under way in Rossatzbach for the two-day “Starnacht aus der Wachau” show, ORF reports. The event will feature performers including Unheilig, Josh. and Chris Steger on Friday and Saturday.

Cameras are still being unpacked, cables laid and autumn decorations completed as crews move boxes of stage equipment across the venue. Stefan Singer, the project manager, said the stage and grandstand were still being finished on Thursday, with the artists due to step onto the stage for the first time that evening.

The performers’ movements have been planned in detail by stage producer and choreographer Marvin Dietmann. He said the team still had to remain prepared for unexpected developments during the live show.

Director Karin Tschabuschnig said 15 cameras would be used, including a drone, to capture the event and present the Wachau as effectively as possible.

The organisers expect dry conditions on both evenings. Remaining tickets are available for Friday and Saturday, while ORF 2 will broadcast the show on Saturday from 8.15 p.m.
