Police launched an extensive investigation, but the circumstances remained unclear. Investigators said they were pursuing all possible leads.

In the second incident, a man was seriously injured at about 10.15 p.m. on Monday near the Ostbahn bridge on Raffineriestraße in Donaustadt. He had a stab wound to his upper body and was already receiving treatment from emergency workers when police arrived. The victim told them that a man had stabbed him.
