Hali to invest 13.5 million euros in Eferding production

Upper Austrian office furniture manufacturer hali will invest around 13.5 million euros by 2030 to modernise production at its plant in Eferding, ORF reported. The project includes new manufacturing equipment, an automated panel warehouse and a 1,200 square metre extension.

The work will be carried out in six construction phases while operations continue, the company said.

Hali’s revenue fell from 67 million euros in 2024, a record year, to around 60 million euros in 2025. The company attributed the decline partly to the continuing difficult market environment, with the office and furniture industries facing reluctance to invest and strong competitive pressure.

Managing director Daniel Erlinger said he wanted public tenders to give greater weight to quality, sustainability and regional value creation alongside price.

The investment project, described by hali as its largest to date, is also intended to expand its business beyond conventional office furniture. The company plans to develop further furniture solutions for hotels, medical practices, banks and public institutions.

Hali employs 250 people and produces more than 135,000 pieces of furniture each year. It has seven sales offices in Austria and one location in Germany.
