A young climber was seriously injured after falling 60 metres near the Postalm via ferrata in Strobl, Salzburg, ORF reported.

According to mountain rescue services, the girl slipped in the approach terrain before reaching the actual via ferrata. She fell through difficult terrain into a streambed, where she was found seriously injured.

Rescuers evacuated her by helicopter.

Mountain rescue services again warned of the dangers in the approach terrain and throughout the Postalm via ferrata. A 22-year-old man died in a fall there in mid-July.
