WSG Tirol snatches late draw against Hartberg

WSG Tirol rescued a point against Hartberg on Sunday when Murat Satin converted a 95th-minute penalty to secure a 2-2 draw in the sixth round of the Austrian Bundesliga, ORF reported.

Hartberg took an early lead at the Tivoli stadium in Innsbruck through Salzburg loanee Oliver Lukic, who scored the first Bundesliga goal of his career with a bouncing free-kick. Marco Hoffmann then extended the visitors’ advantage before halftime by turning a Kainz free-kick into the net.

WSG had more possession and created pressure, but clear chances were limited. Michael Olakigbe came closest in the first half, shooting wide from a tight angle in the 20th minute.

Hartberg goalkeeper Armin Pecsi and the visitors’ defence kept WSG at bay after the break. Konstantin Schopp cleared one effort off the line in the 65th minute, while Pecsi made another important save moments later. Hartberg nearly added a third, but Hamzic stopped Markus Schopp’s header in the 68th minute.

WSG finally pulled one back through Martin Hinterseer, who headed in from a corner. The hosts continued to press, and their late pressure paid off when Lukic clumsily pushed Thomas Sabitzer inside the penalty area. Satin sent Pecsi the wrong way from the spot to level the match.

The draw ended WSG’s hopes of securing a third consecutive win. Both teams have now gone four competitive matches unbeaten, with WSG fifth in the table and Hartberg sixth.
