Thirty-one rental flats for people under 30 are being built at the Kolpinghaus complex in Salzburg’s Itzling district, ORF reported. Applications for the two- and three-bedroom starter flats will open in early October via the Kolpinghaus website.
The completed shell of the Kolping.Start.Quartier is now in place. Gross rent, including operating and ancillary costs, is expected to be between 12 and 12.50 euros per square metre per month.
Applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old and meet several eligibility requirements. These include a net income limit of 3,300 euros per person and either five uninterrupted years of registered primary residence in Salzburg or uninterrupted employment in the city.
Kolpinghaus managing director Michael Grabner-Sittenthaler said the project was intended to support young people’s housing. Rental contracts will run for five years.
The 31 flats are scheduled to be handed over to their new tenants by May 2027 at the latest.
