Man dies after becoming trapped in dump truck in Schwechat

A 37-year-old man died on Saturday afternoon after becoming trapped in a dump truck during repair work in Schwechat, in the Bruck an der Leitha district, ORF reported.

According to initial police findings, the Viennese man had climbed beneath the raised skip of the tracked dump truck while carrying out repairs. He appears to have touched a lever that returned the skip to its original position.

The man was trapped, the Lower Austria State Police Directorate said. A doctor from the Christophorus 9 rescue helicopter could only confirm his death.
