Driver jumps from moving car to evade police in Heiligenblut

A 27 year old driver jumped from his moving car while fleeing police in Heiligenblut on Saturday evening, ORF reported.

The man had been driving a car without number plates when police appeared behind him. He accelerated, drove onto a meadow and left the vehicle before it stopped.

According to police, the passenger eventually stopped the car using the handbrake. Officers caught the driver, who refused a breathalyser test. His driving licence was confiscated.

Police also found that six other people were in the vehicle.
